RM 1.9 million house repaired since 2018, says Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian
KUCHING : A total of 133 houses has been repaired, totaling a cost of RM1.995 million, with another 12 households’ repair works currently in progress, all under ‘Batu Kawa’s Membaik Pulih Rumah’ programme since 2018, Batu Kawa State assemblyman Dato Sri Dr. Sim Kui Hian disclosed after a recent site visit.
Dr Sim added that the Membaik Pulih Rumah Skim is one of the development programs implemented by Sarawak government to help Sarawakians in need.
Under this program, Sarawak government will carefully identify houses that need repair, the selection process is transparent and all applicants will need to obtain their community leaders’ recommendation and recognition before being able to submit their application.
The identification, verification and approval process will be done by a committee from various government agencies.
Eligible applicants must be already registered with the Ministry of Social Welfare. Every approved house repair cost will be capped at RM15,000.
