SUPP youth resolutions passed after the CC meeting today
Sarawak United Peoples’ party (SUPP)annual Youth Central committee meeting passed eight resolutions after their meeting at the SUPP headquarters this morning, said Youth Central Chairman, Michael Tiang.
Tiang said the resolution included pursuing at least one-third of total parliamentary seats to Sabah and Sarawak as a protection for our State Rights listed in the Federal Constitution and asking Federal Government to construct two more specialist hospitals in central and northern region of Sarawak including Limbang division
He said they also hoped to have increase in the recruitment of permanent Medical Officers (MOs) from our own Sarawakian doctors and to increase the doctor to population ratio for divisions such as Kapit (1:1,721) and Mukah (1:2,038) which fall away below the recommended ratio of 1:500 by the World Health Organisation
The youth also hoped that the Federal Government will amend the 90:10 ratios of Bumiputeras to non-Bumiputeras to allow more financially difficult non-Bumiputera students into public university matriculation programmes and that Federal and State governments to construct more affordable and low cost housing for young couple and people from rural area migrating to urban area
They also called to Federal and State governments to continue providing wage subsidy for struggling companies badly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and hoped that Sarawak Government to increase the welfare assistance for pregnant mother, single parent, orphans, beverage family and senior citizen from the Petronas RM 2.95 billion SST.
