SUPP Public Complaints Bureau (SUPP PCB) Chief Wilfred Yap was recently approached by concerned residents staying at Kong Phin Road who complained to him that they were not satisfied with the quality of the construction works for the upgrading of earth to concrete drains.

Their spokesperson surnamed Kon who spoke on their behalf had requested for a proper inspection by officers from Majlis Perbandaran Padawan (MPP) to ensure that the ongoing construction works by the contractor was in accordance with the technical drawings and specifications under the contract.

Yap said following the complaint and request for assistance received, he immediately highlighted and brought up the matter to the attention of the Majlis Perbandaran Padawan and together with officers from MPP’s Engineering Department went to inspect and assess the situation and also to see what can be done to quickly resolve the complaint of the residents.

During the inspection at the construction site, officers from the Engineering Department of MPP discovered that the contractor had not carried out some part of the upgrading works in accordance with the technical drawings and specifications. In view of this, the officers from MPP had instructed the contractor to demolish certain sections of the partially completed works which were not carried out in accordance with the technical drawings and specifications.

SUPP Public Complaints Bureau Chief Wilfred Yap who is also SUPP Kota Sentosa Chairman views the above matter seriously and will continue to monitor the situation until all the upgrading works are completed in full compliance with the technical drawings and specifications under the contract of works.
