New Chapel for Piasau industrial area
The Holy Rosary Chapel which stood on mixed zone at Piasau Industrial area has been completed with a total of RM 100,000 where the population there is over 70 percent Muslims.
Officiating at the function this morning where he handed over the UNIFOR cheque to the Fund raising committee, Datuk Sebastian Ting said it was an unique situation as the committee consisted of both Christians and Muslims members.
Ting who is also the Assistant Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Ministry said only in Sarawak or Sabah can such harmony happened between the different religions.
He said it is an acceptance from all the community in Sarawak that makes us unique. He also praised Chief Minister, Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari for giving out funds to non Muslim House of worship.
