Piasau YB gives Face Recognition Terminal to schools
Sixteen schools were given Face Recognition Teminal costing over RM4,000 each to record datas of students going to school.
Assistant Minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Datuk Sebastian Ting said the purpose of the FRT will shorten the queuing up of students in schools daily by more than 50 percent.
He cited an example where teachers have to physically check the students’ temperature, write down names, their class and so on. This will force them to queue up even during rainy days.
“But with Face recognition terminal, all the students need is to wear their masks and stand there within 3 seconds and their datas recorded. If they did not wear any mask or have fever, they were told by the machine not to enter. So this is a big help to the teachers who did not have to waste time doing the recording,”he said.
The 16 schools distributed were SK Kampung Luak, Miri,SK South, Miri, SK St. Columba, Miri, SK St. Joseph, Miri, SJK (C) Chung Hua Miri, SJK North, Miri, SK Jalan Bintang, Miri, SJK (C) Chung Hua Lutong, Miri, SK Lutong, Miri, SMK Agama, Miri, SM Sains, Miri, SMK Luak, Miri, SMK St. Joseph, Miri,.
