MPP cleaning and disinfecting public markets
MPP today carried out thorough cleaning and disinfecting work at the major wet markets and other trading venues in MPP area as a safety precautionary measure against the infectious Coronavirus disease (Covid-19).
The cleaning and disinfecting operation was carried out at all 3 popular wet markets, 3rd Mile, Kota Sentosa , Kota Padawan and trading centre at Taman Desa Wira.
Hundreds of people do their marketing at these markets. Surfaces often touched by shoppers’ hands such as stalls table surfaces and handrails also sanitized. Cleaning and disinfecting places, especially places that are regularly frequented by the public like markets can help prevent the spread of Covid-19. This cleaning and disinfecting operation is one of the Council’s ongoing initiatives to curb the spread of Covid-19 and to make public markets cleaner and safer.
Chairman of MPP, Lo Khere Chiang commended the efforts of MPP staff and administration for their examplary efforts and call upon all relevant authorites to disinfect public areas and everyone else to maintain the highest hygiene and to keep shared corridor and common thoroughfare clean and hygienic at all times.
