Houses built by GPS to help the needy
Batu Kawah State assemblyman Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian disclosed that a total of 43 houses has been completed under Batu Kawa’s Membaik Pulih Rumah programme and it cost a total of RM590,000.00.
For this 43 houses, 37 houses was completed in phase 1 with the cost of RM500,000.00 and the remaining 6 houses completed under phase 2.
Dr Sim added that Membaik Pulih Rumah programme is one of the development programme implemented by Sarawak government to help those needy Sarawakian.
Under such programme, Sarawak government will carefully identify those houses that needed to be repair, the selection process is transparent and those applicants will need to obtain community leaders’ recommendation and recognition before seeking for approval.
The identification, verification and approval process will be done by a committee from various government agencies.
For those eligible applicants, he/she must be register under Ministry of Social Welfare. Every approved house repair cost will be capped at RM15,000.00.
