Wilfred Yap ask contractor to complete upgrading work

SUPP PCB Chief Wilfred Yap during his regular “turun padang” activity to 7^th Mile area was recently approached by the business community and local residents who complained to him of the delayed improvement and upgrading works of the canopy and stage situate at Kota Sentosa Mini Town Square.

Yap had communicated the problem to the Engineering Department of MPP and MPP have already issued a letter of non completion and the final reminder to the contractor concerned to the complete the project.

“MPP currently have an existing policy to recommend non performing and errant contractors for projects for blacklisting. However, Wilfred Yap who is also a Councillor of Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) shall put forward his recommendation to MPP during the next full council meeting for the performance criteria for grading contractors used by MPP as a guideline during open tender evaluation for awarding projects should be further tightened and more stringent. This is to ensure that only the best contractors are awarded projects by MPP and the projects awarded will be completed on schedule and of high quality for the benefit and usage of the public,” he said.

Yap promised to be the eyes and ears of the community living there to ensure that the infrastructure facilities in Kota Sentosa area are maintained properly for the benefit of the community living there. Wilfred Yap will also continue to highlight and try to resolve issues of public interest affecting the public.
