Local government and Housing Minister said he is very disappointed with some sensationalized misrepresentation that Sarawak is not for anti smoking

He pointed out that smoking is very bad for health not only for smokers but also for non smokers (2nd hand smoking) and need to do a lot more on all tobacco products not just by legislation but also holistically

Sarawak, he said, will have our own smoking ban (taking into consideration of our circumstances and Sarawak Local Government ordinances & by law). Just like immigration, we have our own immigration rights.

“As a cardiologist, I had been advocating anti smoking my whole professional life and will continue to do so. And being a Sarawakian, I must make sure Sarawak’s interest is duly safeguarded and adequately protected under the law especially under MA63 & Federal Constitution,’ he reasoned.
