Datuk Ting: Schools to organise more activities that promote social interaction
Piasau State Assemblyman, Datuk Sebastian Ting called to school managements to organise more activities which would foster better relationship and harmony between, teachers, parents and students.
Speaking at the SMK Baru Miri’s Gotong-Royong Programme at the school here yesterday, Ting said such activites will bring them together which would help in the development of education in all aspects. He said with understanding each other, they could iron out misunderstanding and will co-operate to enhance the education of the students in a mature way.
Saying that gotong royong programme organised by the school was a good initiative as it gave teachers the chance to know the parents of students. Through such gathering, teachers can also discuss with parents on the student’s welfare.
Ting announced a RM5,000 government grant for the school given under the Minor Rural Project (MRP) fund.
Also present were the school principal Jerrah Pandin and the school’s Parents-Teachers Association (PTA) chairman Iskandar Abdul Rahim.
