Prevention against dengue
Surveillance of mosquitoes infected with dengue viruses provides an early warning sign for risk of transmission in an area. YB Lo Khere Chiang, together with Padawan Municipal Council Public Health Inspectors, went around Taman Flora Indah collecting samples for testing of the dengue virus.
Because there is currently no effective vaccine against dengue and no specific treatment for the disease, controlling and preventing dengue fever outbreaks are essential steps for keeping people healthy, Lo stressed.
“We will be monitoring and waiting for the test samples before planning on the next fogging session after a major gotong royong for the area.”
