Datuk Sebastian: important to maintain good health
Piasau state assemblyman, Datuk Sebastian Ting Chiew Yew, said members of the public should always put the their health above all, especially for their children.
Speaking at the Type 1 DM camp yesterday at Jinhold Hotel, Miri, Ting said children as we know is the leader for our future generation and keeping them in good health is always our responsibility.
“Let me tell you that I always work together with the health department , Miri Hospital, as well as meeting family members and children who need help in term of medication and financial assistant.
Type 1 Diabetes is due to lack of insulin and usually occur in children and adolescent. The prevalence of the Type 1 Dm is about 4%. Adult Diabetes and Type 2 is about 20% .
Today is the beginning of a strong bonding between the health professional and Non government organization like Diabetes Malaysia Miri . They work hand in hand to share and educate the public and our children who need insulin and regular injection’, he said.
Ting also expressed his appreciation to the Pediatric department and Head of Pediatric department Miri Hospital, Dr Kiew and his expert children team to invite him for this event.
“I would like to thank the Diabetes Malaysia Miri branch under Mdm Ting Chiew Moi and Dato’ Dr Fam Tem Lom, Dr Andy Tang Sing Ong and whole committee members who have contributed generously to make this event a success.”
