Dr Sim affirmed seven parliamentary seats belonged to SUPP
Following a CWC meeting on Thursday, Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) president Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian confirmed that all the seven parliamentary seats belonged to SUPP.
Dr. Sim who is also the Local Government Minister and Housing, said this to reporters after the Central working committee held at the party headquarters.
The seven seats were Bandar Kuching, Stampin, Serian, Sarikei, Sibu, Lanang and Miri.
He said the Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg announced earlier that the seven seats belonged to the party and would not like to have any direct candidate in the coming general election.
During the January BN Supreme Council met on Jan 3 in Kuala Lumpur, Dr Sim pointed out that the decision was already made that the seats belong to the respective component parties.
The CWC he said, had a very fruitful meeting, including the respective branches of the seven seats and that SUPP will work hard to get back all the seats.
