Kho: concurred no BN direct candidate in GE14
SUPP Central Women Section Chairman Kho Teck Wan concurred with the Chief Minister Abang Johari Openg’s decision to not field BN direct candidate in the upcoming General Election.
With the statement by Chief Minster Abang Johari Openg, the candidate who wish to contest under Barisan Nasional Sarawak must come from the four BN Sarawak’s component parties namely PBB, SUPP, PRS and PDP.
At the same time Kho also expressed her sincere appreciation to Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) president Tan Sri Dr James Masing who urged the BN leadership to support SUPP in contesting the seven traditional seats in the upcoming general election.
‘SUPP had stood behind and supported its counterpart during their tough time. Chief Minister Abang Johari and Tan Sri James Masing’s statements truly reflected the spirit of Barisan Nasional Sarawak where mutual respect and support are practiced between the component parties.’ Said Kho.
Kho said that Sarawak-based Parties are now at its strongest point of unity with the common goal in fighting for the interest of Sarawakians. Kho compares this to a short-lived Pakatan Rakyat and now the recently formed Pakatan Harapan, where she described both the Pakatans a mere pursuit of expediency that is not sustainable.
“In fact all the opposition parties are from Malaya and led by Malayans; and clearly they are formed without mutual understanding and goals to achieve for Sarawak”, Kho pointed out.
‘Barisan Nasional Sarawak is committed in delivering Sarawak’s autonomy through the devolution of power. So I urge my fellow Sarawakian to support and work together with Barisan Nasional Sarawak to build a stronger Sarawak. Only a coalition built under Sarawak-based parties will and is capable of fighting for Sarawak’s interest.’ Kho emphasized.
