Dr Chan: put aside differences to make SUPP stronger, united
Former SUPP president Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Dr George Chan Hong Nam, called to both SUPP and UPP to put aside their differences and personal feelings to make SUPP stronger and united.
Speaking at his residence today welcoming both the Governor, Pehin Sri Taib Mahmud and wife and the Chief Minister, Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari and his family to his open house, Chan said he was willing to mediate and unite the two parties to have a stronger voice to negotiate on the MA 63.
By being united, he said, this will make the Chinese stronger in the political field and to serve the people with a stronger voice.
He added that he is behind the present president, Datuk Dr. Sim Kui Hian and his team and through a united front, it will also helped them to get a stronger mandate in the coming GE 14.
Chan said if needed, he will help to campaign for his party in the coming election.
Meanwhile, Dr Sim, at his own Open House, believed that his party will win back all the 7 seats allocated to them in the coming electin.
Dr. Sim said although 6 out of 7 seats were gone in the last Parliamentary election, he is optimistic that in this election, the table will be turned.
Sarawak, he said needs 31 seats in the Parliamentary to get better negotiation to wrest back the power they lost in the past.
