Victim of rabies
Datuk Dr. Sim Kui the Local Government and Housing Minister, paid his last respect to Bong Fah Sin ‘s family this afternoon in Sin San Tu.
Bong aged 59 was a SUPP member and Board of Director of SM Min Lit and SJK Sin San Tu treasure.
He was tested positive on Jan 26 after being bitten by a dog on November 27. Bong had gone to a private clinic and was not referred to a government hospital.
Dr. Sim called to anyone who was bitten to go to the Sarawak general hospital immediately as the city is not declared rabies free.
Political secretary to the CM, Tan Kai said he recently met Bong in mid January. Bong looked healthy and never mentioned about himself being bitten by a dog. He said he knew Bong personally and was a good hard working man. Bong passed away at the SGH yesterday.
He is the 7th victim to die of Rabies attack. The first case occurred during Gawai last year in Serian. So far, the Health department has been trying to vaccine all dogs in Sarawak.
