Staying healthy with Tai Chi Qigong exercise
As one gets older, the tendency to fall sick is more prevalent thus one has to take care of one’s own health, said Piasau State Assemblyman, Datuk Sebastian Ting.
Ting said due to old age, one cannot go for vigorous exercise but they can take up more graceful ones like Tai Chi Qigong exercise to maintain their health and remain active.
Ting added that practising Tai Chi not only helps maintain one’s health as the slow but powerful exercise is believed to be able to help treat ailments, practising it in group encourages elderly people to socialise more.
He pointed out that Tai Chi Qigong promoted health and being part of the group, they can maintain a friendship so needed for the elderly.
Ting was speaking at the Miri Tai Chi Qigong Shibashi Recreation Centre anniversary recently at a Miri hotel where he also pledged RM2, 000 each to seven clubs under the Miri Tai Chi Qigong Shibashi Recreation Centre for them to organise more activities.
About 200 members took part in the dinner.
