Bawang Assan Branch held its triennial general meeting yesterday with the Youth section  and the Women section in the morning. The main meeting was the general meeting of its members held in the afternoon with a big turnout.

The Youth Wing new  leader,  Elson Tie  took over from Marcus Yek, who now  takes on a bigger role as the new Treasurer of the main committee.

The Women Wing is largely the same with some additional committee members. The Women section Head is Ivy Sii.

Robert Lau Hui Yew is retained for the second term as the chairman.

Many are new faces in the committee, a majority from the Youth wing with more Bumiputeras. Lau said this is something good as  new and young

Bawang Assan has very strong presence of Bumiputra voters and they still need a lot of assistance and they best way is to do it through politics.

SUPP will continue to serve the people of Bawang Assan and Sibu over the next three years.
