SPCB: helping out clearing rubbish dump and leaking pipe
SUPP Public Complaints Bureau (SUPP PCB) Chief, Wilfred Yap was recently approached by the business community of RH Commercial area who complained of an illegal rubbish dump consisting of left over construction material in the vicinity of their shop houses which was not only unsightly but had become a breeding ground for mosquitoes and rats.
They had requested SUPP PCB to assist by requesting Majlis Bandaraya Kuching Selatan (MBKS) for the removal of the leftover construction material and rubbish thrown by irresponsible contractors carrying out renovation works and also for proper signage be put up to warn irresponsible contractors and members of the public from illegally throwing rubbish.
SUPP PCB would like to thank Mayor Dato James Chan, Councillor Philip Liaw and the Public Health Department of MBKS for their cooperation and prompt action in clearing up the illegal rubbish dump at RH Commercial area and for putting up the signage warning the public not to illegally throw rubbish.
On another matter, SUPP Public Complaints Bureau (SPCB) Chief, Wilfred Yap was informed by residents staying at Wisma Satria Jaya, BDC, Kuching of a broken underground main water pipe that was leaking huge quantities of water.
The matter was immediately highlighted and brought up to the attention of the Kuching Water Board (KWB).
The broken main water pipe has been repaired by a contractor appointed by KWB and SUPP Public Complaints Bureau Chief, Wilfred Yap would like to thank KWB for their speedy and efficient action in solving the broken main water pipe problem.
