Michael Tiang: Government would not table RUU355 amendment in Parliament

Political secretary to the Chief minister, Michael Tiang said Annuar Musa’s recent claim that UMNO has decided to work together with PAS to amend RUU355, would not in any way overturn the BN’s unanimous decision made on 30-3-2017 that the Government would not table the RUU355 amendment in the Parliament.

Michael Tiang reminded the Ketereh MP that it was through the strong and united opposition from Sarawak BN, the Prime Minister had made the ultimate decision that BN Government would not assist or table the RUU355 amendment in the parliament.

He added that such unanimous decision by the BN was based on general consensus within the BN which was in line with the BN’s long established and closely guarded traditions, principles and practices that the Barisan Nasional being the Government of the day owes a duty and a responsibility to all Malaysians, to ensure that all races shall be living in peace and harmony and be free from any constitutional crisis or mutual distrust.

Tiang added that the political interests of any individual component party in the BN shall never be above the BN’s principles and spirit. It is exactly by this very principle that the BN has earned the trust of  the people of all races to rule this country for the past four decades.
