Mid Autum Festival

DBKU Mayor, Dato’ Abang Wahap Julai congratulated SUPP for the success of the 16th installation of this festival.

He said the annual event is a must visit and he is impressed with the organizational aspect of this event, which has transformed this event into an Iconic event for Bandaraya Kuching. The event is in DBKU’s jurisdiction and we are proud partners with the organizing committee on aspects that we can assist.

“The character of the event using the slogan “Sight Sound & Taste” as its guide and Unity in Diversity as it’s principle, is in line with the “Unity City” moniker which was bestowed on our city three years ago.

The organizers have definitely worked tirelessly for months ahead of the event just to give us the entire final product. What we all see as normal is actually well planned hard work and dedication. I congratulate Dato Sim Swee Yong, the function chairman for choosing the right team for the task.

The organizers have put into practice these ideas and now the end product is a festival that Kuchingites look forward to yearly. I myself look forward to it and I’m pleased to be here tonight to enjoy the festival. I thank the organizers for the invite and rest assured I will be visiting it again during next year,” he added.

He wished all Chinese friends happy Mooncake Festival or Mid Autum Festival.
