The Heritage Society of RCBM Hospital
The Heritage Society of RCBM Hospital paid a courtesy visit to YB Datuk Abd Karim Rahman Hamzah on Tuesday afternoon, along with their Honorary Patron YB Lo Khere Chiang.
The purpose of the visit was to introduce the Heritage Society of RCBM Hospital, their current and future efforts in preserving and conserving the heritage and culture of the Rajah Charles Brooke Memorial Settlement.
The Rajah Charles Brooke Memorial Hospital has recently been awarded the Notification of Preservation for Historical Buildings under the Sarawak Cultural Heritage Ordinance 1993. This serves as a notice that it is now to be listed as a local heritage site.
A short slide presentation was presented by the President of the Heritage Society of RCBM Hospital, Angelina Jong, covering the historical aspects of the Rajah Charles Brooke Memorial Settlement and on plans for developing the area as a local heritage site.
