Visits to SUPP branches

SUPP president Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian, SUPP sec gen Datuk Sebastian Ting, SUPP vice president Datuk Lee Kim Shin and SUPP Info sec Adam Yii recently visited party branches in Bintulu, Batu Niah and Lambir.

Dr Sim who is also state Minister for Local Government, spoke to the branch leaders and members in their offices during his brief visits.

Among key the points he raised was to let members know that such visits are part of the party leaders ground visits to branches in order to be in constant touch with party members at the very grass root levels.

It is also part of the leadership commitment to serve members  and the public even after election time.

These visits will are also to listen to grouses at the districts levels especially those located far away from cities and towns and discuss with community leaders who are appointed by the state government such as kapitan, penghulu and pemanca.

It is noted that in Miri there are only 28 community leaders appointed, where else in Sibu there are more than 130.  The ministry will discuss this situation with the state leadership.

Miri population is big and still growing, so there is need for more community leaders.

Dr Sim called on the grass root to continue keeping in touch with their party comrades at divisional and state levels as well as keep HQ updated on latest issues happening at the branches.

He also reminded that when members wear their party uniform in public it must stand for good service to the rakyat as the rakyat will assess the party based on its ground work.
