Flood problem at Taman Happy Valley, Jalan Luis, Kuching

SUPP Public Complaints Bureau (SUPP PCB) Chief, Wilfred Yap, Kapitan Wong Ka Chuan together with committee members of Ever-Bright Jaya and Phoning Gardens Community Association, Kuching recently had a meeting with Mr Chok Moi Soon, Director of Drainage & Irrigation Department at Wisma Saberkas on the flash flood problem at Taman Happy Valley, Jalan Luis, Kuching.

During the meeting, the group  appealed to the Drainage & Irrigation Department for the construction of  a  special pump to prevent  flooding  at Taman Happy Valley from occurring again.

Residents of Taman Happy Valley who are all very anxious and worried that the flash flooding similar to the one that occurred on  5th May 2017 would happen again.

As an interim measure, local residents  appealed for the Department   to urgently implement a short term solution of raising part of the road level at the entrance of Jalan Luis into Taman Happy Valley to prevent and divert rain water from 101 Commercial Centre and Gala City Commercial Centre from flowing into Taman Happy Valley.
