Anjung Kasih – Free temporary housing, facilities for patient’s relatives

Anjung Kasih at the Sarawak General Hospital was officially opened by the TYT recently.

It is a free temporary housing facilities for patient’s relatives as well as a  half way house for patients. It is extremely important for Sarawak as patients’ family from the rural and interior areas come to support the patient.

Some used to sleep on the floor in a state of the art hospital , said Dr. Sim Kui Hian, State Local government Minister. He said he remembered very well when he raised the issue with senior management in KL and was told the MOH’s job is not to provide hostel/hotel!

Anjung Kasih in Sarawak ( a total of eight, including those in Kuching, Sibu, Miri) is managed by the Yayasan Kebajikan Negara to meet  a greater need for the family of the patient in Sarawak due to its logistics.
