Passing away of Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Dr. Wong Soon Kai

Sarawak United Party President (SUPP), Senator Datuk Dr. Sim Kui Hian expressed his heartfelt deepest condolence to Puan Sri Dr. Jane Yong and family for the passing for former Deputy Chief Minister and former President of SUPP, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Dr. Wong Soon Kai.

Dr. Wong passed away at 4 am today.

He recalled the late Tan Sri was a party comrade who was always concerned with the welfare of the party and fellow Sarawakians till the end. He was a medical colleague, a great gentleman, a mentor, an inspiring leader and a statesman who dedicated his whole life to his fellow countrymen. It is truly a great loss to our homeland Sarawak and our country. May his soul rest in peace,” he said.

SUPP Youth Chairman, Tan Kai said he was sad to hear of a comrade’s passing. He said Dr. Wong is a leader who was a doctor and always stick to his principle that party’s interest always come first. “In his early day as a medical doctor, he always treat the poor people without charging medical fee. During the set back of the party, he urged all people to be united under the flag of the party and put aside the personnel’s emotion.
