Dr Sim: focus on increasing party’s membership
Minister for Local Government, Datuk Dr. Sim Kui Hian, who is also SUPP President, said the party should focus on increasing its membership drive which is at the moment is almost 110,000.
Speaking at the SUPP Annual Delegates conference at the party headquarters yesterday, Dr. Sim said with 82 supp branches all over the State, they should not only be training involved but the members must go to the ground to do the party work for the people.
He said they should also know who their enemies are and be responsible and discipline to set a good image for the party.
Dr. Sim also called to the members to focus on the urban poor and to render a helping hand to them when necessary.
A total of 300 members from all over Sarawak attended the one day conference.
On the coming general election, Dr. Sim urged members to be ready and worked towards winning the confidence of the people.
Also attending the function was the party’s secretary general, Dato’ Sebastian Ting and CWC members.
