SUPP CENTRAL YOUTH PRESS STATEMENT
Every time the World Press Freedom Index report was announced, DAP leaders would fiercely criticize the BN government, accusing the government of oppressing the freedom of speech and controlling the media. Ironically, their Penang Chief Mnister Lim Guan Eng has this notorious “You Print I Sue” reputation which seemed to have been widely adopted by many (if not all) DAP leaders.
Not too long ago, their Penang Chief Minister was reported of using his political might to demand a Chinese Daily to republish news article with a revised headline because he thought the headline could get him into trouble.
When Huo Da Team asked IF Sarawak DAP was preparing to form a new party in its last statement, Sarawak DAP Chairman, the famous lawyer Chong Chieng Jen went berserk and threatened to take legal action against the Huo Da team. This is yet another “You Print I Sue” at its best, which is typical of DAP’s political model—double standard! Huo Da team merely queried on the facticity of the yet to be verified information, hence the title of the statement IS DAP SARAWAK PREPARING TO FORM NEW PARTY?
For DAP to claim itself to be a political party which defends and advocates freedom of speech, Chong Chieng Jen’s respond to the team’s query was somehow disappointing but not completely unexpected.
