Assistance for houses damaged by strong winds at Mile 10, Kota Padawan.

Strong wind last Sunday spoilt Kampung Sri Arjuna villager Denni Rakum’s plans to celebrate Hari Raya Aidiladha when it tore off a giant part of the roof over his house. MPP Chairman, State Assemblyman for Batu Kitang YB Cr. Lo Khere Chiang was informed, the next day Penghulu Lim Eng Huat from SUPP 10 miles sub branch assisted Mr Denni with Rm300 cash for the exposed roof area with temporary canvas covers and YB Lo’s Assistant Mr Lee Chia Soon personally bought Mr Denni to Kebajikan to seek for emergency welfare assistance.

Within a week, today the team from Kebajikan, lead by Hjh Norhayati Bt Hj Abdul Rahman, Peg Kebajikan Masyarakat Bhgn Kuching. Together with Kapitan Chong Wei Chen and Cr. Shirley Pui we paid a visit to Mr Denni Rakum. Welfare department presented Mr Denni cash assistance of maximum Rm2500, YB Lo assisted with an additional Rm500 cash to help Mr Denni complete the new roofing works.

YB Lo strongly advised the public to be strong when such emergency situation happens, as citizens we must seek proper assistance for emergency cases as there are appropriate departments to seek welfare assistance from. We must learn to be resilient of emergency situation like Mr Denni’s case. Our government are very helpful on cases like such, but proper application is strongly advised. Together we can build a better Batu Kitang.
