Helping out victims of house owners destroyed in freak storm

Local Government Minister, Senator Datuk Dr. Sim Kui Hian said he will assisted in clearing the debris and put up a temporary roof for victims whose houses were destroyed in a freak storm on Wednesday late afternoon.

Dr. Sim went to Lorong Permata 1, Jalan Rock to see the situation for himself and said the most important thing is to clear up the debris and gave a temporary roof for the five houses whose roofs were blown off.

The freak weather caused a number of damages in Kuching yesterday at about 4.30 pm.

He said he will checked to find out what sort of assistance from the State government he can help the victims. “Never before we have this. For flood, I know the amount the victims can get compensated but this type of damages, I dare not promise as the houses are private properties. But I will check and look into it,” he added

Dr. Sim also thanked the authorities for helping out the victims and urged them to record and report to the police.
