Dr Sim encouraged UEC holders to work with state government
Local Government Minister Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian urged holders of Unified Examination Certificiate (UEC) to consider seriously to serve in the State, who clarified that it had received only six to eight applications since the state government recognized it.
Dr.Sim was speaking at the 17th anniversary dinner for the Alumni Association of Kuching Chung Hua Middle School No.4 last Saturday and said the state government was actively pursuing the autonomy on education.
Should Sarawak regained its autonomous power on education, the state government would invite universities in China to set up branches in Sarawak to prevent brain drain from the state.
