SUPP statement on vandalism of billboards
Billboards again set on fire, SUPP condemns uncivilised behaviour
Once again, SUPP billboards came under vicious attack. After our police report on the vandalism of two billboards in Batu Kawah yesterday, another two were found ruthlessly torn and set on fire early this morning.
This is an extension of the opponent camps’ politics of hatred and fear. If politicians aim to earn the title of Yang Berhormat (“honourable one”), then please don’t act like violent street thugs. Is this the role model “leadership behaviour” we want our children to look up to?
We urge our opponents to be responsible and conduct in a civilized manner. Candidates should be contesting to champion for a better Batu Kawah, better Kuching and Sarawak, not propagating malicious hatred and violence.
Since we are contesting to be the people’s representatives, we called upon all candidates to uphold the spirit of democracy and set good example for Sarawak’s younger generations.
