SPCB assisting traders at Kota Sentosa Commercial area
SUPP Public Complaints Bureau Chief and SUPP Candidate for N12 Kota Sentosa, Wilfred Yap was recently approached by traders at Kota Sentosa Commercial area who requested for his assistance to clear blocked drains.
Following the request for assistance received, Wilfred Yap had immediately highlighted and brought up to the attention of the Majlis Perbandaran Padawan (MPP). Wilfred Yap also went to inspect and assess the situation with the officers of the public health section of MPP and also to see what can be done to resolve the problem raised by them.
Workers from the public health section of MPP using a desludging truck have now cleared the rubbish comprising plastic bags, nails, leftover construction cement and wood from renovation works and also inorganic material comprising mainly decomposed fish scales from the blocked drain. However the water flow from the drain is still not satisfactory due to improper sealing and uneven level of the drain which disrupt the water flow.
SUPP Public Complaints Bureau Chief, Wilfred Yap would like to thank MPP for their speedy action in solving the problem and would like to advise the traders and business owners there to cooperate and be considerate in future and not to throw any rubbish or organic material into the drain to prevent the blockage of the drain from occurring again.
Wilfred Yap also hopes that shop house owners would only carry out renovation works like covering up drains with cement after obtaining approval from MPP as this would prevent uneven levels of drains which would disrupt water flow and thereby cause blockage.
