RTP in Piasau progressing smoothly
Piasau assemblyman Datuk Sebastian Ting Chiew Yew expressed happiness that the majority of rural transformation projects (RTP) in the Piasau area are progressing well. These projects included multi-purpose halls, school buildings, markets, house of worships and other infrastructures. SUPP PCB Chief Wilfred Yap advises public to stay away from loansharks
SUPP Public Complaints Bureau (SPCB) Chief Wilfred Yap who was approached by a victim who was harassed, threatened and scared by a loanshark who asked her for payment for a loan which was allegedly owed by her brother.. According to the woman, the unidentified individual had informed that her handphone number was given to them by her brother. SUPP President, Datuk Dr. Sim Kui Hian officiated the opening ceremony of the Chung Hua No.6 school fund raising food fair on Sunday.
Dr. Sim who is also Local Government and Housing Minister said the fund raising for the use of the school maintanences and activities managed to raise the target of RM300,000. He thanked donors for their spirit in raising funds for Chinese schools to enable them to continue. He added that there are lots of non Chinese studying in Chinese schools in Sarawak.

砂地方政府及房屋部长兼砂人联党主席拿督沈桂贤日前受邀主持古晋中华小学第六校义卖会开幕礼。 在各界踊跃支持下，此次六小义卖会成功突破筹款目标，筹获30万令吉义款。 沈桂贤赞扬各界大众秉持热爱华教的精神，让古晋中华小学第六校义卖会成功举行，并成功筹措到筹款指标。 他强调华校不仅是华人子弟就读的学校，包括也获得许多土著家长支持，愿意送他们子女进入华校学习，因此华校也可说是展现各族人民团结的一个场所。 他建议校董会考虑使用网上捐款方式，包括义卖会也可通过网上捐款。 古晋中华小学校董会主席的王长福在致词时，宣布此次六小义卖会成功突破了30万令吉的筹款指标。 他表示，创办于1998年的六小至今已有21个年头，随着新时代的来临，该校需要更多的建设发展，以迎合各种教学需求。 由于他表示六小就坐落在繁忙的道路旁边，每天经过的车辆数以千计，特别是上午上学及中午放学时段，家长的车辆都停靠在道路两旁，交通更为拥挤。因此，为了解决交通拥挤的问题及保障道路使用者的安全，他希望巴达旺市议会拓宽道路，并将水沟覆盖起来，让车辆可以停放。
陳超耀：委任拉蒂法违背体制改革承诺
砂拉越人民联合党秘书长拿督陈超耀批评首相马哈迪绕过所有人，一意孤行以个人决定委任拉蒂法为全国反贪污会主席已经违反了政府承诺的体制改革。 他表示，首相兼当今希盟最高领导人一而再，再而三地吞回希盟竞选宣言，此举也凸显了希盟的不公，甚至是欺骗了全国选民。这已强而有力地证明，眼下的希盟完全丧失了约束马哈迪主义复辟，遏制不了迫不及待重回马哈迪专权时代的大U转；这个趋势暴露，行动党、公正党除了替马哈迪涂脂抹粉，已经起不了政治制衡作用。 陈超耀形容这是马哈迪主义复辟梦魇成真的警示，也是行动党执政后所服膺的“静静路线”显尽归顺后无能之败笔。 他表示，马哈迪的行动无疑再度展示了个人的独裁和唯我独大行为，甚至公正党主席安华也认为马哈迪必须针对有关任命作出适当的解释，因为此举已经违反了《反贪污委员会法令》。 “身为国家首相不但没有以身作则，实施了先斩后奏的委任，没有通过内阁讨论或获得其他成员党的同意下冒然作出让全国人民惊讶，甚至是惊吓的公布，难道眼中还有希盟在大选前的竞选宣言？” 陈超耀说，相信人民对希盟的大选宣言犹如在耳，当时身为希盟领导的马哈迪誓言旦旦表示将会以更透明化以及将制衡政府所作出的每一项决定，扬言将以更公平的制度来对待每项决定，然而从以上的“个人委任”来看，马哈迪当选后似乎忘记了自己说过什么，甚至曾对选民许下的宣言。 也是卑尔骚区州议员拿督陈超耀指出，马哈迪这份送给全国人民的开斋节礼物显然不讨喜也让人民反感，因为希盟当选后一直将许多过错归咎于前朝政府的错，显然现在马哈迪也重蹈覆辙，甚至还肆无惮忌的实施个人意愿，展现了当今政府在监管方面存在的结构问题和弊端，更凸显了首先个人权力过大的滥权问题。 他补充，较早前沙巴首长也同样官方委任了一名非沙巴人的骆意荣为当地州议员，此外，其余的官位包括行动党前党员丘光耀被委任马中商务理事会首席执行官、林冠英前特别助理周锦炎、行动党史里肯邦安州议员欧阳捍华受委为巴生港务局主席等。 “让人遗憾的是，某行动党州议员就希盟执政砂，外人或当首长事宜，抨击砂拉越人联党误导人民甚至是煽动砂子民的情绪。首相马哈迪委任属意人选，连希盟跟联邦内阁都被绕开越过，从已经发生的事实来看，有关州议员怎能确保不可能发生官委砂州首长的梦魇成真呢？或一旦事情真的发生，该名州议员能保证以自己之力能说服或推翻首相的决定？如果是，请有关议员向全砂人民公开作出保证。” 陈超耀也在文告中强调，针对马哈迪自委拉蒂法为全国反贪污会主席一事，除了引发人民和反对党的不满之外，竞选盟和律师公会也质疑和担忧首相的权力过大，更表示马哈迪没有事先通过内阁讨论自行宣布完全不符合法律程序。然而，身为一名资深律师的拉蒂法更信心满满接过委任状，完全无视外界的异议，甚至临时临急辞去在公正党的职务，这样的举动如何说服人民对全国反贪污会的信任？ 如今“米已成炊”，拉蒂法也已经就任，希盟成员党也噤若寒蝉。他敦促马哈迪作出一个能让全国人民接受的解释之余，也希望他将后能尊重国会，不要漠视法律程序的存在，不要再让人民一再对希盟感到心寒。

沈桂贤出席达雅节庆典
砂地方政府及房屋部长兼砂人联党主席拿督沈桂贤昨晚出席婆罗州高原路甘榜卡鲁的达雅节庆典，与当地居民共庆佳节。 这项达雅节庆典是由砂人联党巴拉安分部主席金森县议员主办，出席者包括砂人联党财政拿督法兰西斯哈汀及妇女组主席许德婉。 当地居民分工合作，一起参与达雅节庆典的举办工作，这份团结精神让沈桂贤表示激赏。他认为，这展现了社区真正的团结意义，那些居住在城市的居民，需要多多学习这份精神。
