MPP Chairman, Lo Khere Chiang tackles abandoned vehicles issue
MPP Chairman, Lo Khere Chiang advised residentials not to leave abandoned vehicles in residential areas as it will invited unwanted pest like mosquitoes and rats.
Lo said there were several complaints made in a residential area at Batu Kawah resettlement area where some vehicles were left outside the house premise.
His enforcement team went to the site and issued a notice to the owner to remove the four vehicles within seven days or further action will be taken.
Lo urged residents of MPP jurisdiction to ensure that the surrounding area of their houses are clean.
MPP had seized twelve abandoned vehicles.
Lo added that under the by- laws 27(1) of The Local Authorities (Cleanliness) By-laws 1999, Lo pointed out that ‘No person shall leave, deposit or place on any road or place or any private land derelict or unwanted vehicle or the parts of any such vehicle.’ Failure to comply with notice issued by Council, the Council may cause the vehicle to be removed and charge the costs of such removal to that person.
