SUPP looks into ways to assist education for the poor
Newly re-elected SUPP president Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian urged Sarawak government to set up a Cabinet Committee to look into the racial imbalance in the Sarawak and Federal Civil Services.
A motion was passed during Sarawak United People’s Party’s (SUPP) 25th Triennial Delegates Conference 2022 held at the party’s headquarters.
Dr Sim said the proposed committee would draw up strategies and guidelines in addressing the racial imbalance issues in the Sarawak and Federal Civil Services.
Two internal resolutions were also passed, namely, the party central would establish a Higher Education Counselling Bureau and SA’ATI Education Foundation Bureau.
“The SA’ATI Education Foundation Bureau is to help the primary, secondary and university students,” Dr Sim said.
It was also resolved that the party central would establish an Agricultural Information and Development Bureau.
On another issue, Dr Sim said SUPP, together with Sarakup Indu Dayak Sarawak (SIDS) is setting up an education fund called the Barbara Mendu Bay Education Fund.
The foundation is in honour of the goods work of Barbara Mendu Bay for the Bumiputera community.
