SUPP Youth Central Sec gen, Milton Foo said MP Kuching should ask for more fundings for health facilities

SUPP Youth Central Secretary General, Milton Foo urged MP Kuching, Kelvin Yii to help in securing more fundings for health facilities as it is part of his fund allocation.

“What he has been doing for Klinik Tanah Puteh is part and parcel of the funds allocation to MP after DAP has signed MOU with UMNO last year, ie. RM2 million funds allocation every year. As YB Kelvin Yii is also the chairman of the Special Parliamentary Select Committee on Health, Science and Innovation Select Committee, I urge and hope he can fight for more allocation of funds in terms of health facilities in Sarawak including a new Klinik Kesihatan Tanah Puteh as the current building situated at Jalan Kwong Lee Bank in Pending has a very limited space and cannot accommodate the rising numbers of patients especially the car park issue, ” he said.

Foo pointed out that there there is also an urgent need to upgrade the health facilities, amenities and utilities of the said health clinic including but not limited to toilets for better environment not only to the public but also the medical staffs stationed there.

Yii had gone to Klinik Kesihatan Tanah Puteh to respond to certain complaints by the public as well as to better understand the needs of the clinic so we can assist them better.

While there he inspected the toilets for the patients and staff on the ground floor. He said he received multiple complaints that the toilets are small and not OKU friendly.

Yii added that they will be looking at engaging a few contractors to view the toilets and draws up proper plans and quotation to upgrade the toilets. From there his office will allocate some funds for it including for the need to upgrade some of the pipping in the clinic as he want to ensure that the staff and patients get the best facility as possible during their visit to the clinic.

Yii said he had allocated more than RM220K so far to the clinic to refurbish the clinics, repaint the inside, upgrade the air-conditioning in the clinic, purchase dental and medical equipment and supplies, build an outdoor awning so that ambulances can drop patients under a shade and also so patients can wait outside even when its raining.
