Look into the Mirror, Lo Khere Chiang tells Oppositions

Assemblyman for Batu Kitang, Lo Khere Chiang likened DAP Abdul Aziz Isa as crying over spilled milk when he stated that GPS is ‘begging’ from the federal government for a Deputy prime minister post and Sarawak’s autonomy when they claimed to be the kingmaker.

Lo said said he understood the feelings of Aziz to be down due to the fact that they were unable to be in the government but he should not blame anyone as they have missed the boat to be part of the government for missing the opportunity to cut a deal with former Prime Minister, Muhyiddin who offered an olive leave to significantly reform in exchange for a confidence and supply agreement.

He said Aziz should instead place the blame on Dato Sri Anwar Ibrahim who apparently refused to consider it as he was sure that he had the numbers this time around. It was just a huge strategic blunder. “This is something your own party leaders and the Pakatan Harapan will have to live with the consequences and the knowledge that they facilitated UMNO’s return to power. In the meantime, there can be no more talk of trying to overthrow the government at least for now.For sure, the Malay rulers and the people will not stand another attempt at regime change. You must understand Anwar’s failure yet again to win support to become prime minister must surely call into question his continued leadership of both his party and the opposition coalition. It appeared crystal clear that the Opposition has lost its way and voters have lost faith in them. If the Opposition is to regain the momentum, a new leadership team must be put in place as soon as possible,” he pointed out.

Lo added that being in GPS means working out the best deal we can have on MA 63 and working towards the betterment for Sarawakians to upgrade their lives and to live harmoniously as one family despite our so many ethnic groups and different religions. He said so far Sarawak have succeeded living together and this legacy should be passed to the next generation.

He added that in the 22 months when PH was in power, they have succeeded in cutting major projects in Sarawak, cutting huge grants to Tunku Abdul Rahman college, reducing grants for grass cutting from Rm1 billion to RM800,000 annually.

“It is time the Opposition stops the blame game. We are in a pandemic. Stop being theatrical and fight the pandemic together. Our Sarawak Management Disaster Committee (SDMC) has been doing well especially when ensuring the majority of Sarawakians are vaccinated so as not to fall seriously ill if tested positive.

Our main job here now is to fight the pandemic and bring back a healthy economy for our people. Let us, GPS do that without any obstacles from the Opposition,” he stated.
