Taman Mei Lee Recreational Park upgrade completed and handed over to MPP
The upgraded Taman Mei Lee Recreational Park at Lorong 6A, Jalan Stakan has been officially handed over to the Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) for future maintenance following the completion of a RM50,000 Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) project.
Sentosa assemblyman Wilfred Yap said the park upgrade, funded under his 2025 RTP allocation, was aimed at providing residents with a safer, more attractive and family friendly recreational space.
The project, which began in January, was carried out by N.A.R. Contractor Works under the supervision of MPP’s engineering team.
Yap said the completed works included upgraded footpaths and public amenities, improved ground surfaces to enhance safety for children and senior citizens, as well as landscaping improvements to encourage healthy lifestyles and strengthen community interaction.
He said community based infrastructure projects, although modest in scale, play an important role in improving the quality of life of local residents.
“I am pleased to see this park transformed into a safe and welcoming place where families, children and senior citizens can enjoy outdoor activities while fostering a stronger sense of community,” he said during the symbolic handover ceremony.
Yap also thanked MPP’s engineering team for overseeing the project from its initial planning stage until completion. Following the handover, the park’s maintenance, safety monitoring and landscaping will be managed by MPP.
