RM100,000 Allocated by Datuk Sebastian Ting for Upgrades at Miri Chung Hua Kindergarten
To enhance school facilities and improve student safety, Miri Chung Hua Kindergarten has received an allocation of RM100,000 from Datuk Sebastian Ting, Sarawak Deputy Minister for Tourism and Piasau State Assemblyman.
The funds, disbursed under the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP), have been used to carry out various improvement works, which have now been fully completed and officially handed over.
The upgrade project included several key enhancements: extending the covered walkway, resurfacing the kindergarten’s exit road, and repairing structural damage caused by termite infestations. These improvements significantly enhance the safety and comfort of the learning environment for the children.
Founded in the 1980s, the kindergarten had seen wear and damage over time, particularly due to termite activity. In response, this project incorporated termite prevention measures, including chemical treatment by the contractor, who will return in two months to ensure long-term effectiveness.
Chia Kah Frung, Deputy Secretary of the Piasau Branch Youth Wing of SUPP and special aide to Ting, recently visited the site for final inspection, accompanied by Miri City Council engineers and the contractor.
He noted that the project was originally scheduled for three months but was completed ahead of time, reflecting strong progress and efficient execution.
The improvement project was coordinated by the Piasau Constituency Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK), commencing in mid-June and receiving strong support and appreciation from the school administration, teachers, and parents.
