SUPP Unity Night

SUPP party president, Dato Sri Dr. Sim Kui Hian asked voters to be wise this time in casting their votes on November 19. He said this time it is important that all 31 GPS representatives be voted in so that Sarawak can demand for what is ours and be the decision maker of who will be government of the day.

Speaking to the 800 strong crowd at the “Unity Dinner”, hosted by SUPP Kuching branch in a restaurant, Dr. Sim said the future of the nation now lies in the hands of Sarawakians. He said as the Chinese used to say, “Fengsui will go around” meaning everyone will have their time, this is Sarawak’s time to rise above all, he added.

Asking voters to stay focused and vote in GPS, Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) President, Dato Sri Dr. Sim Kui Hian said the future of the nation would be theirs to decide if GPS 31 candidates are all voted into parliament.

For the past 60 years, he said, we were bullied by Malaya. We have to adhere to what they want and what they will give us. We have no say but now, this time, it is our turn to shine and show them.

Dr. Sim pointed out that it is not by default, Sarawak has a say. It is due to the unity of Sarawak politically which makes us strong and stable. ”The situation in Malaya gives Sarawak the edge to be the ‘kingmaker’ as Sarawak politics have never been as chaotic or messy as them. Look at their candidacy. Every constitution has three or four or more candidates. This shows their struggle for power and after nomination, you can see their members resigned from their parties. After Pakatan Harapan’s rule for 22 months, in the next five years, Malaysia had three prime ministers as such is the struggle for power and the instability in Malaya,” he said.

Stating that GPS has always been in control, he said all the 31 seats must be won including Bandar Kuching and Stampin.

Blaming the Opposition for their lies, Dr. Sim said that it may not be UNMO who will be the government of the day. “On the 19th of this month, who knows who will be the government? It may not necessarily be UMNO. But whoever is the government needs GPS. It is our decision to make. That is when we can sit down and talk to them to decide who should be the government. We have to win first, otherwise, we will not have such power,” he said.

He said when he was in Batu Kawah five years ago, the opposition and some people poke fun at him asking how and what he can do for Batu Kawah. “Today, I can proudly say without me as the ADUN in Batu Kawah, you will not see such development under the Opposition. So to vote all the SUPP candidates into Parliament, just think of it as voting for me, Dr. Sim, “ he added.

Also at the dinner were old SUPP leaders.
