Dr Sim: hospitals in Sarawak need to be upgraded
Minister for Local Government, Senator Datuk Dr. Sim Kui Hian said the Lundu Hospital has been identified as a top priority hospital to be rebuilt in the state .
In a walkabout, Dr. Sim said he also identified Sri Aman, Bau and Lawas hospitals that needed urgent attention from the federal government and that Sarawak medical facilities is left far behind compared to West Malaysia.
Lundu Hospital which was built in 1965 is in a bad shape and need to be constructed . There should also be an upgrading of the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) due to the increasing number of patients.
He said the upgrading work would include the long outstanding car park, eight operation theatres, four lifts and an additional 80 beds.
