Year-end annual grant for Batu Kawah temples for their activities
Deputy Premier, Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian handed over the funding for different religious bodies in Batu Kawa.
Dr Sim said the Sarawak government promised to continue to assist religious sites especially those in need of improvement and construction of their buildings.
He pointed out that Sarawak is very different from other parts of Malaysia as they assisted the construction of temples through other religious units (unifor).
“The government supports religious or worship sites and holds activities that contribute to community and racial harmony,” he added.
He then handed over the funds to 20 temples and welfare charity organizations in the constituency as activities and welfare funds.
He understands that some temples, welfare organisations and charity organizations will need some additional funds at the end of the year.
