Edited video clip twisted to make Lo Khere Chiang looks bad

Ang Woei Shang, a practising lawyer cum columnist who hosted the interview on Stampin candidate, Lo Khere Chiang in a viral video clip which depicted Lo in a bad light flew in from Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday evening to clarify the actual situation.

Ang said Lo was accused of claiming rural folks were rich as they have empurau to eat.

He said this is dirty politics and having witnessed so many elections before, he said this one is the most dirty of them all.

The edited video, said Ang, looks like Lo was stating that Sarawakians especially rural folks are not poor as they have empurau to eat. In actual fact, I asked him why Sarawak government has 20 billion reserve fund and did not use these money to develop the state and it was one of the poorest state in Malaysia, he said.

Lo explained in details that there are indigenous people living in interior rural area who have no income. This group of people, Lo told him preferred to live in the country side, in the mountains where they fish and hunt for their daily food rather than stay in cities. These people may be happy with their own lives. Thus when the data collected showed they have no income, this group pushed up the hard core poor level of Sarawak.

Ang pointed out that the whole viraled video clip was taken out of context by those who wanted to make Lo look in a bad light.

“Although I have a busy schedule, I still flew in to make the situation right. Whether it will help to do any damage control, I do not know. But I just want to set the thing right,” he said.

He said he himself has received more than 100 times the Empurau video thus when Lo’s office contacted him, he felt it is his duty to come to clarify the whole situation.

Ang who has written three books touching on Malaysia politics said he is a free lance. He does not belong to any political party.

Yesterday evening, Ang took to the stage at the ceramah at Aeroville Mall where he explained in detail the reason he was invited to talk. He also asked Stampin voters to vote in GPS.

Ang who has a fan base of 180,000 besides Youtube and FB said he has never accepted payment in doing all these talks.

In his opinion, he believed that BN will still have a higher chance to win. Of the 18 years old voters, Ang said there will not be a big impact. He said many youngsters are not interested in

Ang said he wanted to get across his message to GPS that GPS is not the Kingmaker in the political scenario. In fact, he said GPS itself is the King and they should be more assertive in fighting for Sarawak.
