Batu Kitang assemblyman Dato Ir Lo Khere Chiang will bring together various government agencies and local authorities for a community engagement and dialogue session with residents and businesses on Aug 22.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a press conference today, Lo said the programme, to be held at 10am at Open University Malaysia (OUM) Kuching Branch, aims to provide a direct platform for the community to raise concerns and seek responses from the relevant agencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis is about being closer to the people, listening to their concerns and working together to find practical solutions. We want residents and businesses to have a direct channel to communicate with the agencies responsible for these issues,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among the agencies invited are the Padawan Municipal Council (MPP), Kota Samarahan Municipal Council (MPKS), Sarawak Water and the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Issues expected to be discussed include stormwater drainage and flooding, road damage and infrastructure maintenance, public safety, water supply interruptions, environmental hygiene and waste management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lo said the session would also provide an opportunity for residents to put forward other concerns and development proposals affecting their neighbourhoods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cEvery voice matters. The feedback, suggestions and questions from the people are important in shaping the development of our communities,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
