The SUPP Bako Branch, in collaboration with Zhengkang Traditional Medicine and Complementary Centre, will organise a free traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) public health event at Demak Laut on Aug 30.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event, to be held from 9am to noon at Great Day Food Court, Jalan Bako, Demak Laut Commercial Centre, is open to members of the public of all ages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Organising committee chairman Simon Kho said the programme would offer free blood pressure checks, TCM health consultations, tuina therapeutic massage, cupping, Gua Sha and acupuncture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said the services would be conducted by professional TCM practitioners, with acupuncture administered following consultation and guidance from qualified practitioners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTuina massage can help relieve muscle fatigue and improve blood circulation, while cupping and Gua Sha are traditional therapies commonly used to ease bodily discomfort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cFree cooling herbal tea will also be provided to help the public stay refreshed amid the hot and hazy weather,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SUPP Bako Branch chairman and programme adviser Bong Nam Kee said the event aimed to give back to the community while promoting greater understanding of TCM wellness and health management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe hope that through the services provided by professional TCM practitioners and our volunteers, more members of the public will gain useful health information and professional advice,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He also expressed appreciation to coffee shop owner Raymond Liaw for providing the venue and to the SUPP Kuching Branch for organising and mobilising youth volunteers to assist with the programme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event will be held on Sunday, Aug 30, from 9am to noon at Great Day Food Court, Jalan Bako, Demak Laut Commercial Centre, at the shoplot before the Petronas station entrance. Admission is free.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
