Piasau assemblyman Datuk Sebastian Ting spent time at the Miri Artificial Lake Park yesterday evening, taking a walk and engaging with members of the public and youths to learn more about their recreational and sporting activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ting observed that the park attracts large numbers of people for exercise and leisure activities in both the mornings and evenings, reflecting growing public awareness of healthy living and the importance of maintaining an active lifestyle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said it was encouraging to see people of all ages making use of the public recreational space for exercise and leisure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cHealthy living is not only about maintaining physical health, but also helps promote community interaction by providing people of different age groups with a comfortable and safe environment for exercise, recreation and social activities,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ting noted that the area has various facilities, including a cycling and adventure sports area, skate park, basketball court, pickleball courts and jogging tracks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThese facilities have gradually made the area a popular destination for morning exercise, jogging, aerobics and various outdoor activities, particularly during the morning and evening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThis is a very positive development,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ting also took note of several youths operating food trucks at nearby parking areas, saying their small businesses provided income opportunities while adding vibrancy to the park and offering food options to visitors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said young entrepreneurs could not only showcase their creativity but also inject new vitality into the local economy, attract visitors and gradually develop a distinctive community-based economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI strongly encourage young people to be brave in pursuing entrepreneurship. While the journey may come with challenges, those with ideas, perseverance and a willingness to keep learning can gradually build their own businesses,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ting said the Government and various sectors of society continued to encourage young entrepreneurs by creating a better environment for doing business and providing platforms for them to reach consumers and markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He also encouraged the food truck operators at the park, noting that such small-scale businesses could complement recreational, park and sports spaces while benefiting visitors and contributing to local economic activity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
