Over the years, the state government has provided financial assistance and even land for Chinese primary schools.

“The Sarawak Government also provides annual allocations to independent Chinese secondary schools. Since 2014, the cumulative annual allocations have reached RM102 million, reflecting the state government’s commitment to treating all communities fairly and ensuring that no group’s education is neglected,” he said.

He added that the Sarawak Government has also invested heavily in implementing free tertiary education to ensure that every student has the opportunity to pursue higher education. He expressed hope that teachers would continue to nurture students so they can contribute to Sarawak’s future development and nation building efforts.

Meanwhile, Sim revealed that from 2016 to 2025, he had allocated RM13 million to schools within his constituency.

Deputy Premier, who is also Batu Kawa assemblyman Datuk Amar Sim Kui Hian has encouraged teachers to provide students with knowledge about Sarawak beyond what is found in textbooks, in order to help the Sarawak Government strengthen a deeper and more confident sense of nation building among its people.
