Presidents of MCA Datuk Sri Liow Tiong Lai, Gerakan Datuk Ma Siew Khiong and LPD Datuk Teo Chee Kang have come to a mutual agreement that Teras and UPP should not be accepted into the fold of the Barisan Nasional (BN) as it would cause problems among the 13 component parties.<\/p>\n

Liow, Ma and Teo were having a dialogue session with the SUPP leaders and SPDP President, Dato’ Sri Tiong King Sing in the SUPP’s headquarters this afternoon.<\/p>\n

After an hour close door discussion, Liow told reporters that they want to maintain the spirit of unity in BN and that even if one party said they did not want another party to join, they would all be in it \u00a0together.<\/p>\n

Liow pointed out that it was important that under their constitution, should one party disagreed, they will all disagreed.<\/p>\n

Teras was announced on May 15 where SPDP former President, Tan Sri William Mawan and the G4 teamed up with the break away of SUPP former Sibu Chairman, Dato’ Sri Wong Soon Koh and four State Assemblymen, Ranum Mina, Jonicol Rayong, Dr. Jerip Susil and SWP George Lagong.<\/p>\n

After two months, Wong and his team broke off with Teras and formed UPP.\u00a0 All throughout\u00a0both Teras and UPP kept saying they are BN friendly.<\/p>\n

The President of the three parties, SUPP, PRS, \u00a0and PRS President, Tan Sri James Masing had in June got together during a Gawai do at the latter’s residence and joined force to disallow Teras or any other party formed to join BN.<\/p>\n

The three presidents reasoned that if anyone were to be dissatisfied with the party members and get out to form the party and claimed to be BN friendly expecting to be accepted into the fold of BN, there would be a lot of splinters party should a precedent be set.<\/p>\n

Liow said they had already\u00a0conveyed\u00a0their joint decision\u00a0during the BN supreme council meeting recently.<\/p>\n

The BN component leaders were in Kuching to join the SUPP 55th anniversary dinner officiated by the Chief Minister, Tan Sri Adenen Satem tonight.<\/p>\n
