A couple whose 29-year-old daughter has been missing for nearly three months are appealing for help to trace her whereabouts after losing contact with her in May.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mr Kho, a food hawker, and his wife, Madam Voon, said their only daughter, Alicia Kho Sing Hui, is a single mother of two children \u2014 a six-year-old son and an eight-year-old daughter \u2014 who have been living with them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a press conference with SUPP Public Complaints Bureau chief Milton Foo, Mr Kho said Alicia usually spent most of her time in her room and was not employed. He claimed she frequently played online games and had become acquainted with a man believed to be from China.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The parents had no idea when Alicia left for another country and despite the mother remaining in contact with Alicia in April, all communication ceased on May 17 when her mother was no longer able to reach her.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The couple lodged a police report on July 5 and sought assistance from Foo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Foo advised the family to file a report with Malaysia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs to seek assistance in tracing Alicia’s whereabouts. He also accompanied them to lodge a report with the China Consulate in Kuching.
According to Mr Kho, consular officials requested Alicia’s birth certificate and passport to facilitate efforts to trace her.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The parents also revealed that after Alicia left home, they discovered documents in her bedroom indicating that she had applied for a visa to China. They also found documents belonging to a man, including his photograph.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Foo said Alicia’s parents are deeply worried as they do not know whether their daughter is safe. He appealed to Alicia to contact her family as soon as possible to let them know of her wellbeing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
